Asskickipedia

So, there's Wikipedia, right?  And it's pretty much great.  Except...

Wikipedia is boring.  Damn boring.  Entries are supposed to have a neutral tone.  Formatting is supposed to be standardized.  Facts are supposed to be verified.  YAWN.  The bits I like best about Wikipedia are the bits that veer off the map, the little flashes of personality that the editors haven't yet caught.   It seems to me that forcing an encyclopedia that anybody and everybody can edit to be neutral and respectable isn't really playing to the medium's strengths.

I want a wikipedia that favors entertainment value over accuracy.  One where entries look like arguments.  One where people edit jokes in not out.  One where my very clever friends and their friends all try to be clever and have fun and create a weird collaborative document.    I have wanted this since I was ten and first read The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

I want an online encyclopedia that kicks ass.  So I thought I'd try and see if I could make one.

If this sound fun to you, welcome.

The Ground Rules

Yes, there are rules.

  1. Asskickipedia is additive, not subtractive.  You can edit people's work for grammatical errors but do not delete their content.  You can, however, embellish their content with any additional facts and/or jokes that may occur.  If you disagree with the accuracy of any part of any entry do not delete it.  The better way is to add your own section, either on a seperate page, or immediately under the contested material that slyly belittles the offending position.  Be creative.
  2. Be funny.  Be informative.  Write entries on the shit that fascinates you.
  3. Cursing is fine.  racial and sexual epithets are not.
  4. If you want to mess with the formatting, go ahead.
  5. If you decide to edit this thing, add your name to  this section:

Robot Roll Call

Isaac Kelley

The Reverend

Jai Mayers (Just 'Zis Guy, you know?)

Stephanie Baker Person extrodinaire

Tony W

Curtis P God Emporer of Cyberspace

Casey "I can spell extraordinaire" Miller
